Accessing your account information online isn’t for everyone, but there are some true benefits to being able to receive e-documents and not having to worry about your information traveling to your neighbor’s house by mistake.
Below I’ve outlined some of the pros that go along with receiving your documents online:
Access to our Online Portal
When you sign up for e-statements through Financial Synergies, you will be given a login credential to our secure client portal. This login is specifically for you, under the email address you have on file (or a different one you give us) and is encrypted and secure.
This portal doesn’t just house your statements or send you alerts when they are ready, it can actually provide you with real-time performance data on your accounts, separately, or on your portfolio as a whole.
Accuracy of Delivery and Timeliness
How many times have you sent something important through regular mail, only to find that it doesn’t get to the intended recipient at all?
What is great about our e-statement and portal service, is that you don’t have to worry about your financial information traveling through other people’s hands, nor wait for it to arrive. With e-statements, we generate the report, upload it to your portal, and send you an email notification when the report is ready to view (which is, usually, all in the same day).
Safety of Financial Information
Our online portal is an encrypted site, which reduces all likelihood that a hacker could read your personal and financial information. In the unlikely event that your client portal is hacked, there is nothing the hacker could do to move or trade your funds – the information on the portal is just a view-only mirror of the information we have on our internal system. Also, you have the ability to change your password at any time, and if you were ever concerned we could delete your client portal altogether.
Going Green
Everybody’s doing it! One of the major reasons we encourage signing up for e-statements is to cut down on paper usage and eliminate excess waste. Per the USPS, there were over 513 million pieces of mail sent per day in 2013, and the amount of fuel they used to transport that mail increased drastically compared to previous years. While cutting down on our mailing by a few hundred pieces a year might not seem like it will be a huge impact, it’s a good place to start.
Hopefully, this article has given you some encouragement to look into signing up for e-statements with us. If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to call the office for further discussion.
