Marie Villard is the Chief Technology Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and a Partner at Financial Synergies Wealth Advisors, where she leads the firm’s technology, compliance, and internal strategy to help deliver a seamless experience for both her team and our clients.

Her path into finance began unexpectedly. While studying music at Stetson University, Marie discovered a passion for finance and changed majors – a decision that launched a career focused on helping advisory firms operate more effectively.

Before joining Financial Synergies in 2013, Marie worked with banks and advisors at SEI and later at Charles Schwab, where she gained behind-the-scenes insight into the registered investment advisor industry.
Today, she plays a central role in guiding the firm’s operational strategy, regulatory oversight, and internal collaboration. Her work helps ensure the firm delivers thoughtful advice and a consistently high level of service to the families and individuals we serve.

Marie also holds a Master’s degree in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University and maintains her Series 65 license.

Outside of work, she enjoys hot yoga, gardening, and spending time with her son Randy, dog Hank, and cat Jersey Boy, in Houston.
