Washington, the Economy, and Your Money

On April 1st, 2014, Financial Synergies will welcome Greg Valliere, Chief Political Strategist for the Potomac Research Group, to a special client event at Willie G’s in Houston.
With over 30 years of experience covering Washington, Greg focuses on the policies crafted by Congress and the White House and how those policies impact the economy and the markets. I’ve had the privilege of hearing Greg speak a number of times over the years, and I have always been impressed with his ability to provide observations and insights while maintaining a position of political neutrality.
In recent years, Washington’s influence on the financial markets has been undeniable. Issues surrounding the “Fiscal Cliff,” the ballooning national debt, tax policy, healthcare reform and the recent appointment of a new Fed chair come to mind. And with midterm elections approaching, we find ourselves asking many of the same questions:
– How will Obamacare impact employment and the economy?
– Will Janet Yellen’s Federal Reserve act much the same as Ben Bernanke’s Fed and what are the implications for interest rates?
– Can we ever expect to see real tax reform in the country?
– Will Democrats and Republicans ever be able to cooperate to move our country forward in productive ways?
I hope you’ll join us for what is sure to be a lively discussion with our nationally renowned guest speaker! To RSVP, please contact Nikki at (713)623-6600 or nthomas@finsyn.com.
