Schwab has announced that the mailing dates for 2015 tax forms will be a little bit later than they have in previous years. Below is a modified schedule of when you should expect to see your forms, either via mail or email.
If you have an IRA account or Inherited IRA and are taking distributions, you should receive your 1099-R early this month (February), if you haven’t received it already.
Original 1099s for all taxable accounts (individual accounts, joint tenants, community property, trusts, LPs, etc.) will be available mid to late February.
If you have deposited into an IRA, done a rollover, or conversion to a Roth, your 5498s will be available early March.
In the event of updated information, Schwab will issue corrected tax forms beginning in early March. For this reason, we encourage you to wait to file your taxes if you have taxable accounts so you can avoid filing an amended return in the event a corrected 1099 is issued.
If you have any questions about these forms or others, feel free to give us a call or email us at your convenience.
